Help No Bios Screen on power-up and the lights on mobo is on

I just finish putting together what would be like my 3rd pc that i made, here is what i put in :

1) Intel Pentium D 925 3.0GHz / 4MB Cache / 800MHz FSB / Dual-Core / Presler / OEM / Socket 775 / Processor
2) D955Xbk Intel Motherboard Socket 775 Extreme Series
3) OCZ Dual Channel XTC 2048MB PC5400 DDR2 667MHz Gamer Memory (2 x 1024MB)
4) Connect 3D Radeon X300 SE with HyperMemory / PCI Express / Supporting 256MB with HyperMemory / DVI / VGA / HDTV / Video Card

Well, thats the main important parts i think, The thing is that i got it to run, and well :(, i was installing windows, and when it got to the part where it was "installing devices" or "detecting devices" (the little green loading bar on the left of the screen after you do all the formatting on the HD and such), well when the green bar was like half way, my system would shut down, and i was like "WTF!" :((, because that was very akward, and now the system doesn't start all it does is that the fans move for like a second when when u push the on button like on this thread :

What brand/model/size of PSU are you using?
One thing to check is that the CPU heatsink is fully locked down. One of the corners could have popped loose.

Does that matter even though i had it running for a good while?, the heatsink has 4 cable pin, so i think its good on the motherboard, and as for the power supply its a PH-500ATX,

I'm mighty suspicious of that power supply if it's not a heat issue. It's a cheap low quality 400 watt ATX 1.x unit.

So you guys think the cpu and mobo is still good?, because the mobos' light does turn green but it just does what i described above,

Oh and by the way i tested the CPU on a 680i mobo of my friends and it showed error 25,
Which is like some video shadow error, :(

The green LED on the mobo only means that the PSU is providing the 5v standby voltage. Any of the other voltages could bad/weak/unstable/etc.
Until you have proven that other parts are good/bad, then it can be a toss up whether the CPU/mobo are OK.

ok, But what about the test i did with the cpu and the 680i ( http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2714977&CatId=2014)
and it gave us a error 25, which says in the book has to do with video shadow or something,
well if thats not anything be concerned with , this is the power supply im looking into getting :(

For a PSU, all you need is something like this:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817104953
It's half the cost and probably twice the quality.
As for the error 25, could be due to what CPU was used on the 680i board and your CPU wasn't configured correctly in the BIOS.

So by the looks of it you think its the mobo instead of the cpu? because if there was anything wrong with the cpu it wouldn't have given us error 25 correct?

Until you start swapping out the PSU to start with, have no idea if anything else is bad.
And would make sure that the CPU heatsink is latched down on all 4 corners. You must be using an aftermarket heatsink since the CPU is listed as OEM. If you applied thermal compound and the heatsink had some applied, may have too much which will insulate the heatsink from the CPU and cause theCPU to overheat and shut down the system. Same thing will happen with an incorrectly installed heatsink.

Well i assumed the above because i did buy the PSU, last night and i tried it and it gave me the same thing, so it now narrows down to CPU or MOBO right :S

So it all seems like the mobo is the winner, i got a new cpu, same exact one, and still the same problem :(

So Im guessing it was the Crappy PSU that crapped the Mobo, any good PSU recommendations,

Stay away from Ultra power supplies. Please read the power supply threads in General Hardware. You can't go wrong with a Fortron as has already been recommended.

Stay away from Tiger Direct, by the way. They have ad writers that can make a turd smell like a rose. We know better here.
