I'm currently writing a blog on how we should wait until Vista becomes more stable to get it. I would just like some feedback on this issue and other possible flaws that Vista or any OS has when they first hit the shelves.

I installed Vista Home Premium 32-bit on a PC I built a couple of days ago. Vista seems to be okay. However, I did have issues w/ installing drivers for my hardware. For some reason, none of the drivers on CDs can be installed... It gets near to the end and fails to finish. I had to download and install drivers online..

Vista uses what's been referred to as a "Virgin" Networking stack, Microsoft started anew with their networking stack in other words, which means --even though they've surely learned-- there will be repeated mistakes and new holes which make Vista vulnerable. Moreover there will still be bugs, despite the long period of beta testing which may or may not have been inconclusive, but to be fair the betas got better as they were released.

Vista is like every Windows version previous, it has its issues and it's safest to wait before adopting it for casual use. I would wait for news of a 'Service Pack 1' personally.

My view, if you have more than one pc and you have one with Vista compatible hardware and if you're going to buy an operating system anyway, buy Vista. Be prepared to debug it a little just like any new release.

However, if you only have one pc or the one you are considering the Vista install for is your primary machine and is currently running XP, leave it alone.

As more and more people install Vista and report their likes and dislikes, you will receive more opinions about it.
