Ok before I take this baby to the shop I'll ask you guys.

Problem began few weeks ago.

Computer would give me the blue screen and suggest I disable somekind of cache.
reboot the screen would go to a standard size instead of wide screen.
shut down and swapped simms worked fine.

got the blue screen form time to time swapped simms and worked fine
every now and then the toshiba power saver program would shut it self down
Yesruday got the blue screen and tried to reboot, got a windows did not shut down right screen and gave me the option to go to three differant safe moods or reboot with windows.
selected safe moods one at a time but it always returned to same screen. about every third time
the screen start to boot in the standard size and freezes.

Enterd Cmos and everything looks ok.

Any suggestions? it is a M45 S331

Does this problem occur when connected to the electrical supply or when running on batteries only?

Have you tried running on cord with no battery fitted? The battery might be faulty They can cause faults like your seeing here. Hope this helps.

Is it still on warranty? Pull one memory module and see how it runs on just one. There was an issue with some Toshibas a while ago, when you upgraded the ram and used both slots it caused issues like that. It requires service at a Toshiba depot to fix it if that's the problem.
