Hi everyone, I'm new here

Here is my problem. I love linux ever since I was 12,but recently I wanted to install 10.1 SUSE Open. I went through the partioning and everything worked. After the windows partition was shrunk, Suse began installing, so I went downstairs to get a drink of water. I come back upstairs and Suse installation says failure to install. I said okay, tried it again, same message. This is so frustrating, can anyone help me?

Specs of PC:
IBM THinkpad r40
Pentium 4m 2.2ghz
768mb RAM
80GB HDD, gave 20GB to Suse
Other O.S. Windows XP Pro

Knightmare welcome to PC-Mechanic, What was the complete error, or was "failure to install" it.

How are you installing linux? on one hard drive with windows, I personally install Linux on a separate hard drive. How did you partition the drive.

Things I would do is: re-burn the .iso image, If it still won't install, then redownload open suse

Yes, I like using a seperate HDD, but I can't fit two HDDs in an R40. I shrunk the Windows partition giving 20 to Suse. I think I just may go with Fedora core 6, I dunno I have to study for SATs so it might be while before I have time to play around
