Trouble Downloading

I have a problem with my computer that affects probably 85% of my downloads. Anytime I try and download something it says that the file is corrupt or there is some sort of CRC error once I try and run it or install it. This can happen by just simply downloading a application or when I try and update an old application on the computer, such as Party Poker. I can't update my BIOS drivers b/c of this problem or any of the driver for video/sound card etc. Also for games such as MMOs that have large patches the computer will crash to a blue screen several times while downloading the patches. This also happens with limewire which I have used for music. While downloading the music it says that thje file is corrupted and when the d/l is complete there are many skips within the songs. These types of things keep happening. Now I am sometimes able to download just fine, at first I was able to download just fine, thats how I got things such as LimeWire and Party Poker in the first place. I have reformatted once and the same problem persist. My roommates all have a fine connection when we are on the same router. My other laptop computer downloads just fine through the same wire when I change systems. What seems to be the problem? What information do you need from me to help? Thanks alot.

I'm thinking that maybe there's a HD issue? Maybe the HD is bad, or the cable is bad, or the mobo connection is bad. That's just a guess though.

I would have thought you had malware but you've already reformatted.
If you're using the on board LAN you could try disabling it in the bios and putting in an ethernet card.

I suspected a faulty HD so I bought a new one after I reformatted and same problem. I have switched all my cables with others as well.

Today bought an ethernet card and tried it with same problems.

What kind of ethernet card is bundled with your motherboard? If it's nvidia and you install their full software suite instead of just the driver it can cause they types of issues you're experiencing.

I have a ASUS A8N-SLI motherboard that came with Nvidia NForce Networking COntroller. When I installed I don't think I installed the whole suite because of all the problems I have heard of with the firewall and things. I believe only the drivers are on there.

Is there a yellow exclamation mark next to the on board ethernet in Device Manager?

My A8N Premium, comes with nVidia, and Marvell. Have you tried the Marvell LAN connection if you have one.

there is no exclamation on device manager

don't have the premium version so I don't have the marvell ethernet

I would go with the Ethernet card, as Pam123 said.
