Need a 6m DVI cable [UK]

I posteda quesion similer about a week ago, I've drawn my conclusion and found the best way to go about doing this.

Basically I have a video card on my computer with VGA and DVI output. My current monitor is using a VGA cable and my television has DVI input, so I figured I if I could get a cable long enough (measured - 6m) I could also hook the TV upto my computer. This will allow the watching of my media on a bigger screen.

I looked myself and I can't find one cheap enough (DVI cable) I live in the UK, if anyone can find a shop selling them fairly cheap I would be more than happy, I am aware you need a repeater going 10m> but I'm only doing 6m?

Also, I have a pair of desktop speakers can I swicth these over to my TVs speakers quickly? I'll need a 6m 3.5 audio cable (I have not looked for yet) and some sort of switch to change from desktop speakers to TV speakers.

I've tried and tested different modes, I think I'll live with Single Display. I want to be able to watch movies on the TV that are stored on the computer, I will only need one screen at a time so clone mode or dual screen aren't needed plus the native res differs on both screens so that cancels out clone mode.

And one other question (sorry :( ), I'm sure is possible but is it possible to assign hotkeys on my keyboard or remote so that it will change the video and/or audio from my monitor to TV and vice versa?

Can anyone find me the correct cables please?

For the DVI cable, would look for sites that sell stuff for home theater audio and video. Quality long DVI cables aren't cheap and going cheap can result in poor video on the TV.
As for running the audio to the TV, try it to see if it works. It should unless there is an impedence mismatch. For switching the DVI/audio between monitor and TV, there are KVM switches but are pricey(around $150 in the US).

I've ran a computer on the TV before with my 2m DVI cable and 2m 3.5 audio cable and it looked splendid.

flanzig1, it's an all digital connection. The whole cheap = bad video is true for analog runs, but digtal signals generally either work or they don't. If you're going to get errors it would be from the computer hardware not the cable. The cable will either carry the signal or not carry it at all. That's why it amazes me when people shell out for the $200 HDMI cables when the $12 ones work just as well.

Question is will the stereo be preserved? so if I play a sound on the left channel will it do that on both my desktop speakers left channel AND TV left speaker? and not split it so the left/right of the TV is the left channel and desktop speakers is the right kinda something silly like that.

The audio IN on TVs are usually RCA jacks. If the TV has a stereo jack, it is probably for headphones.

On the back of the TV there's a 3.5mm one, I used to have a computer hooked upto it and the sound card on it connected to the port on the TV via the same cable as the one I posted but smaller size (cable size that is)

It's like an LCD monitor with speakers.
