3 com 100/10 Lan drivers
Somehow that driver I had in my mother borad is gone. I can't use the Ethernet imput on my board anymore. I put in an old nic card i had for now , but its old and I need to get the newer built in card going.
Any idea how to reinstall the driver for that Asus built in nic?
Thanks

Either go to 3com's or Asus's web site and get a new driver:)

Do you still have your mobo installation CD? It's on there.

Yes I do and I tried that as well. It dosen't work cause it only has windows 2000 on it. It wont work:(
This is the correct driver:

Are you sure it's enabled in the bios?

gls thank very much ...I found that was indeed on Disabled:( I enable it and voila it's all good now. Thanks again my friend.
One more question... I was told that an onboard nic card is slower than a separate nic card. Is that true??

The onboard lan card you have is 10/100. There exist 10/100/1000 lan cards (capable of 1Gbps speeds) that are faster, but I don't think a 10/100 addon card would be faster than your onboard NIC.
That 3C940 is in fact a 10/100/1000. It's one of the better onboard chips out there. Absolutely no reason to get a card unless the chip dies.

I can't use the Ethernet imput on my board anymore.
How did it get unactivated in your BIOS if it worked before?

What happened is ... I put my Bios back to Default for another problem I was having and Did not think that that would effect my nic card. I then put in my old nic card to get by:)
