I recently bought a Netgear Rangemax Wireless Router WPN824 and I am having a problem installing it. Whenever I put the installation disc into the cd drive it doesn't run. I try to run it manually by double clicking on auto-run on the disc, but I still got nothing. I am wondering if my firewall (Kaspersky Labs) could be blocking it perhaps, but I am not to sure. Any Help?

The auto-run should point to a exe file on the disk !

Open the auto-run file in note pad and see were it is pointing too

First off, the CDs the come with routers are worthless anyway. You don't need software on any computers, and the set-up wizards on those disks don't make set-up that much simpler then going into the routers browser interface and doing it manually. And we can walk you through that easy enough.

With that said, here is the first thing you need to do. I assume you have everything plugged in via the instructions. Open your browser and go to the address "192.168.1.1". It should ask for login and password. They are "admin" and "password". CHANGE THE PASSWORD!!! as the first thing you do. Wired computers should just work. To set-up wireless goto the wireless tab, change the SSID to whatever you want to name it, and set-up WPA encription as your security. The first time you try to connect to your SSID from a computer it will ask you for the password you entered for WPA. Once you do it will never ask again unless you reinstall Windows.
