Well I just buiit a new gaming computer, and everything went well until first power on =(.
I do not get any beeps whatsoever and there is no picture on monitor. I believe I recieved a bad part, but what one?!? I know its NOT the PSU because all of my leds turn on so do all of my fans, the hard drive also spins up and there is a green light blinking on the DVD-ROM drive.
I also recieve a green light on the motherboard when I turn the power supply on.
Specs:
GFX: PNY 8800gts 640mb
CPU:Intel Core 2 duo E6600 2.4ghz
RAM:1g of DDR2 800 Ram
MOTHERBOARD: Asus p5b
PSU: Raidmax 630w
CASE: Antec 900 hundred
Any help would be greatly appreciated. ( I have already done the out-of case procedure and recieve the same problem)
Thx in advance
Leave it out of the case and remove the ram and video card - only leave the CPU and heatsink connected. Leave the case speaker connected and fire it up. The speaker should start beeping and the heatsinks should get warm. If not, the PSU, motherboard, or CPU is bad.

Well, i dont know if 5 minutes is long enough for the cpu HSF is long enough for it to get warm, but the heatsinks on my mobo are now warm to the touch

im guessing its the cpu, correct me if i am wrong tho =\
Confirm the case speaker is connected to the motherboard header? If so and no beeps, it's CPU, motherboard, or power supply.

I would suspect the Raidmax PSU before the CPU or mobo. Raidmax PSUs, depending on the series and model could be made any one of a 1/2 dozen makers. So any model could anything from quite good to fire starters.

Generally, PSUs that won't start a system is due to weak/unstable/noisy voltages. They usually don't harm the motherboard and usually need something really bad to kill a CPU.

Don't RMA all at once; you'll spend a chunk of change on shipping and insurance. Take these guys' advice and replace that PSU with something on the "good" list at the top of the forum.
Can you borrow a PSU to test with?

Is that 1 or 2 sticks of RAM? If so try with just one and see if anything happens... if not try the next. If one works, that will show the other is defective.

well just bought an antec truepower trio 650w from best buy, and i get the same results i have noticed a weird mark on the cpu socket of my mobo, and i believe that is the problem, so i guess im going to RMA the mobo.

Good plan. Keep that Antec PSU though. The Raidmax might not have been the problem, but we don't recommend using them. The Antec is a big step up.

I'm not sure, but it almost sounds like it's the video card. Maybe it's defective or DOA. The same thing happened to me before. I just gave up with and got something with onboard, but I kinda regret that.

i dont think its the video card, because the mobo would at least beep if that was the case (correct me if im wrong) after further inspection of my lga775 socket it looks like 1 or 2 pins are bent a little bit, could this be the problem?

Gunny, now now. You need an ANTEC PSU no RAIDMAX ya hear? 10$ for me to come look at your computer and laugh like the Liquid Tech lady muwhahaha

Okay, I see. Both of my Asus mobos make a beep when you first turn it on, and then the monitor clicks on a second later.
I know that a lot of times, if there are CPU problems (eg. incompatible cpu, etc), you wouldnt get video (it doesnt post). You might just be on to something. Good luck, I hope you get it working.

Absolutely. You gotta be careful when you install the processor.
