Hi,
About a half a year ago i had a nice computer with an AMD Athalon 64X, NVidia graphics card, with about 2 gig of ram (i think), that my cousin built. about 5-6 months later it started to smell like burning computer parts, so i promptly it shut off. i tested it with a new power supply and the smell hadn't gone away, so then i opened the case and strted sniffing aroung and it smelled like i fried the processor. so i was without a computer with xp for about 3 months but i have had another computer with ME installed on it which now has windows installed on it. My father has gotten a computer from work that had a black case and and intel pentium 1 and windows for workgroups 3.1 installed on it and my grandmother gave mea computer with a pentium 2 on a American Megatrends TYAN TSUMAMI V1.08 mobo. So I stripped the black case with the Pentum 1 out and put the Pentium 2 into it and put my harddrives and old floppy and CD-ROM drives into it and heres my question

OK i have command lines that read as following

Your config.sys and autoexec.bat are not correctly configured. I wouldn't even mess with 3.1, a P2 has enough guts to run a LOT newer version of Windows. What are you going to be able to do in 3.1?

well i placed a xp disjk in the c:\> in it wont load

It's not going to. You have to BOOT with the XP CD. A P2 can run XP, but how much ram do you have?
