I'm planning on placing an order with newegg for the following build. Let me know what you think of all the components. I'm trying to keep everything around $2000. I already have a copy of Windows XP that I'll be reusing until the bugs in Vista get worked out. This will be my first time building a computer.

$179.98

Optical Drive
SAMSUNG 18X DVD±R DVD Burner With 12X DVD-RAM Write, LightScribe Black SATA Model
(I know Lite-On is better, but this is the only SATA drive newegg has in stock)

looks perfect, but I'd just make a double check of the ram compatibility with the motherboard (I think it should be fine though)

Go for the 680i version of that board. P5N32-E SLI.

If you wish to go sli you will need a beefier powersupply. The Etasis ET-750 is a ideal choice.

I would personally get a little bigger case with a bit more depth.

And raid 0 with those two drives isn't gonna result in all that great of a performance boost. Your choice.
