At my place we have 10 comps(we are 10 guys doinengg,so basically stayin together)...initially we were all connected through a LAN..we reacently got a net connection actually 5 net connections...each taking one according to his needs....

So now the thing is dat i am sharing my connection with my roomie but dont want it to be accesed by oders...

We have a an individual Billion BiPAC 5200S router provided by our network provider...i also bought another ethernet card for gettin hooked to de home LAN...my roomie is also hooked to de LAN....

So how do i provide him wid de net connection at de same time not to nebody else..and also stay hooked to de LAN....

WheW!!!...sorry if dis was long...but plz do help....

No pun intended, but please type in plain English...as it will get you a more direct answer to your question. Your modem/router has 4 LAN ports on it, just make sure DHCP is enabled and run a CAT5 network cable from the computer to the router. A wired router will only supply a connection to whichever computer is connected to a LAN port.

If you only have one LAN port and you want to add multiple pc's, a simple 4 or 5 port switch will provide the additonal wired access.

ok this time i am going to very precise

I have an internet connection directly hooked to my machine[Through a router-BiPAC 5200S (Only one port)] at the same time i am also hooked to my Home LAN through a 12 port switch which has an additional 9 PC's on it.

I need to provide internet only to one PC on the LAN barring the rest.,because other PC's are also able to access my internet connection.

How should i go about it.

If I'm reading it right, you only want one computer to connect to the internet, and the others don't get internet access.

If that's the case, then you could access the router, and setup some access / restrictions, I personally would use MAC filtering, over using an IP address (if your using Dynamic addressing)DHCP.
