I just got a Portege m400 tablet and it seems to be slow at times. I've gone thruogh and cleaned out as much as the useless software I can and stopped several services for startup to speed the boot time, but I think I may need some more memory. I only have 512mb. I was wondering if there is a way to moniter some parameters under the Performance tab to see if my PC is using up all the memory?. Or shoud I go ahead and just buy more? It seems to hang alot when I use onenote. If I bought more memory would it be better to get a matching 512 to utilize dual channel or 1 gb. Suppose it might depend alot on my applications, but I wasn't sure how performance compared when weighing dual channel to an actual amount of memory.
Toshiba Portege M400
1.66 core 2 duo
512x1 ram
60 gig HDD (5400)
1400x1050 res.
Windows xp Tablet pc edition
Thanks,
Craig
Edit:
And If I do buy more memory do I need to be concerned with timings and details like that to work with my machine and along with the existing memory, or can I just find the cheapest online price and order that?
