Have an older Gateway and need an ethernet card to get this thing online. It's running ME so my question is: Does ME support only an earlier generation of card or will any purchase do? Motherboard is an MSI 6330 ver. 2.1. About to head into town and need to grab one. Thanks, any info. would be greatly appreciated!

If you want to be safe, check the box or specs page and buy one that comes with drivers for ME.

If you know anybody with an old Compaq from around 1997/8/9 that is scrap or just knocking about collecting dust, they have a fairly reliable PCI lan card in them.
There are native drivers in ME for the card and you can get the correct drivers for it from www.driverguide.com.

Be patient and order a card from Newegg - you are going to get ripped off in town.

Thanks guys. Went to RE-PC and an old guy there new exactly the one I needed. Bought that and a couple Enlight psu's for a grand total of 7 dollars! ( Both checked out fine on a scope so at least I have something to help someone in a pinch.) This little box is going to work out perfect for some kids to do home work. (And a lot of MySpace I'm sure!) That sure was a good price on that Rosewill one glc! Thanks much you guys!
