Hi all

im working on a Toshiba satellite M45 which is just driving me nuts, it just freezes at boot up untill i press the 'space' key , it types a series of a's on any dialogue box that appears and it just scrolls uncontollably on the startup menu, i've scanned it for viruses, disconnected all except the essential drivers, even reinstalled and im still having the problem. when i unscerwed the keypad and put back on while the machine is running it cuts off completely so i thought it could be a grounding problem but after insulating the keypad im still having the same problem. Please guys any feed back would be really appreciated Oh and iv'e also tried a new harddrive and gotten the same results.

Sounds to me like a bad keyboard. The hanging is possilby due to improper hardware recongnition (the kbd) and using the space key gives it a command to ignore the fault and continue to load. Once loaded the faulty keys, possilby the A key, cause the uncontrolled actions. Just my guess but I'd try a different kbd. Look on the bottom of the kbd for a number. That shoud be the proper replacement number.
