Hi everyone, I have a bit of a problem with a decent computer I cannot use. Its a Hp Pavilion a465c, 3.00E Intel Pent.4, 512 Mb, 160Gb. I access windows and log in just fine, but 15-20 minutes into my session the computer will restart. (Believe me, I've tried all I can find in tech support) So I disable the automatic system failure restart in the system properties. It will stop restarting on its own, but If I run to many programs or install new and many drivers/hardware/software, the computer will crash regardless of the automatic system failure restart being off. Instead of restarting promptly, the computer will give me a blue error message that lists problems that may be causing the error message. Faulty corrupting drivers, newly installed/added hardware/software, and possibly memory. The more items I download and install the more often it crashes to the error message, like a worstening cold. I end up having to destructive recovery it or reformat with discs.

Is there any possible explaination as to why this might be happening that anyone might be familiar with?

It sounds like you have an overheating of your computer. I would recommend opening up the case, and taking a vaccuum and can of compressed air and spraying out the fans and the heatsink on the processor.
