Firefox default cursor position

Minor annoyance maybe someone can assist me with:

When opening google homepage (Firefox in Vista Ultimate), the cursor has to be clicked onto the search bar every time I open up the browser.

Can this be set to be automatically inside the search bar? I didn't see anything in Options.

Never heard of this problem, not in Vista or in XP but if you have you reinstalled old mouse drivers instead of updating them?
Old/default drivers and your usual mouse could be the problem so check that first.

after you do some reading there.
It's possible they already have the answer.
