3dmark 06 question

Hey, I downloaded the free version of 3dmark o6 and am trying to install it on Vista. When I do so it says it needs to install a directx 9.0c December 2005 update. I clicked cancel when the direct x install appeared and the entire install went on normally. When I tried to run it though an error message popped up and said I was missing a .dll file.

Is it ok to install dx 9.0c on vista?

As far as I know 3dmark 06 needs an update for Vista.
Have you checked?

Build 1.1.0 is Vista-compatible.
