Why do some screens say Home Edition, and some don't when they boot up?I also noticed that some of them have a green progress bar,and some have blue.Is there a way of changing these?Just curious!Any help is greatly appreciated.Thank You very much!

If I remember correcly, one of the service packs removed the edition from the splashscreen on both Home and Pro. So they displayed "Windows XP" instead of the full "Windows XP Home/Professional Edition".

The green progress bar changes to blue when you install PS2. I dont know about the "Home Edition" splash though.
Yep, its one of the service packs. If i remember correctly, its SP1 that changes the color from green to blue and its SP2 that removes the "professional" or "Home" edition part. There are many ways to change the boot screen to whatever you please, just do a google search.

Service Pack 2 removes "home edition" or "professional edition" from the splash screen and replaces it with "Windows XP". This is the easiest way to determine if a computer has been updated with service pack 2.
