Hi, don't know what forum this would go under, but here is my problem. I'm trying to install 2 80GB sata drives on my mom's computer but cant because the bios doesn't support this. I'm trying this on a AsusRock K7S8X motherboard with bios P1.20. Whenever I try to run the bios flash utillity in DOS I recieve the following, ERROR! CAN'T FIND SYSTEM BIOS' HOOK. What is a bios hook and why doesn't my floppy point the computer to the right location?
Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

How are you going to connect 2 SATA hard drives to a motherboard that doesn't even have SATA ports or controllers? Are you using a PCI SATA controller card?

yes, I have a SIIG pci sata raid card hooked up to the computer. the pci card recognizes the hard drives but bios doesn't.

Did you install the SIIG PCI card drivers?

The system bios will not see the drives on a PCI card - the card has its own bios. To install Windows on one of those drives you have to use a floppy with the drivers and press F6 when prompted to install 3rd party storage drivers.

Did what you suggested glc, and it worked. Thanks. For some reason I thought that the bios had to recognize the drives to be able to install windows.
Yes, the bios DOES have to see the drive - the CARD'S bios in this case.
