Ive got an ASUS P4800-E Deluxe motherboard with 2 onboard Raid controllers :-

The Intel ICH5R controller supported by The Promise PDC20378 controller

At present I have two 74GB Western Digital SATA Raptors on the ICH5R controller as RAID-0 configuration.

My question is ive just been given Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 SATA drive from a friend, will I able able to connect
it to the Promise controller and just use it as a regular drive?

My motherboard manual is located here if u require it lol

I can't really answer your question, but I would highly recommend you don't use RAID 0. The risk of full data loss is too great for the speed boost.

Thats ok.

The main reason I set up the RAID array was for the performance :)

All my essential stuff I back up

I did it because I like my games and wanted as much performance as I could get and because the one thing I hate about PC`s... is having to wait for stuff to load lmao

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to run the extra drive in the way you described. You've got the drive already - I doubt there's any risk in testing it out.

Look at page 2-24 in your manual. You should be fine with your intended configuration.
