New custom PC with AMD

Hi , Im new and I want to ask if these components fit together and will it would have good performance for windows XP Media Center Edition. It not for gaming, for that I have my Xbox 360.

This was in spanish because Im from Mexico so I convert the spanish to English. I think it is understandable. This will cost 550dls thats all. I think it would be a very good media center for viewing movied and web browsing. Do you think the components are good? Thanks

Would look to an Asus motherboard instead of the PCChips. PCChips is pretty much bottom of the barrel maker.
The video card, if it is a PCI slot, would look to the PCI-E video cards. Look at the ATI line of X1300 series of cards.

The pc-chips is advanced compared to others, it has pci express and sata while the more expensive no, well that here im Mexico. The video card what is the difference between PCI and PCI Express will I see a lag?? Or only theoric performance?? Thanks for answering

He was answering in regards to the quality of the board, not necessarily the amenities it has, what it can do, etc. Just like when you buy a car, you don't simply look at the feature-set and buy it - you also look at the brand and reliability of the manufacturer. PC-Chips does not rank highly in reliability - hence the reason it is relatively inexpensive.

The video card you currently have is about two to three generations behind. It would not be prudent to chose that card unless you are using the system strictly for purposes other than gaming. The difference between, say, the X1300 that flazing posted and the Radeon 9250 is noticible.

Thanks for answering, as I posted the pc will not be for gaming, it would be for web browsing and videos. So I what do you think giving up the 256mb for a 128mb video card with PCI Express?? Thanks

A PCI video card is going to be no better than on-board video. PCI-E is the latest video card slot standard replacing AGP.
Yes, the PCChips board may have the latest features but they are still a low quailty budget builder.
And the Acteck case is probably the house brand for Acteck.com which means the PSU is probably a cheap one.
Are your parts compatable? Yes they are.
How well will the system work? With low end parts it may work for years or it may not even turn on.

Changed the video card for a PCI Express for an ATI X300SE with 256mb PCI Express 16x. the memory changed to 667mhz DDR2. I think it is now a decent computer. As I said It would no be for very high end gaming, it would be for web browsing and vewing videos. I have the option to build it myself or the delaer build it, but I want myself, so im asking if the components are compatible. Thanks for answering.

If you go with the X300SE, make sure it is one without the HyperMemory. HyperMemory cards use system memory along with it's own memeory.

just a question, with hypermemory, is there an obvious performance increase? I have read in some places this increase in barely noticable at best, but if anyone knows better please tell.

Yes here the website www.pcenlinea.com Go to the section named computadoras and select arma tu pc en linea. Then you have to select the socket. And then you select the components. And when you select the components press Agregar esta pc a tu carrito. The price cannot exceed the 5700 pesos with iva or tax. Thanks
