You might want to check the Core 2 Duos too, specially with the upcomming price drop.

I am not sure what you plan to use your computer for, but perhaps you could or should wait to get a DX10 card, so instead now you could take a place holder like 7600GT, so that when more affordable DX10 cards are out you can buy one.

Also, for the power supply, Corsair 520HX seems to be popular http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139001 or perhaps Antec NeoHe 500 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817103940

Besides that, your mobo has integrated sound (like all other mobos), so perhaps it is not needed for you to buy a sound card on top of that. Talking of the mobo, if I am not mistaken it is SLI ready which isn't a bad thing, but SLI isn't as interesting as it may seem and mostly its a good way to spend more money in a less than efficient way.

As for the HD, well I personally can't say anything, but generally speaking it seems people go more for WD or Seagate with a tendency to go more for the later.

I'd personally change the mobo to M2N-E http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131022 for 93$, the PSU for the NeoHe for 100, the video card for an EVGA 7600GT http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130062 for 110 or for a PNY 8800GTS http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133193 for 270.
That would get u to save 102$ or to spend 58$ more.

Don't get a IDE hard drive, get a SATA one instead. IDE is older tech. SATA is newer and will be around for a long time to come. And I'd pass on Hitachi hard drives too. Get a Seagate instead.

Please don't get a RaidMax power supply, they're rubbish. Get something from the good list found in this thread. (http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=131195)

You may want to double check that the DVD burner comes with burning software. Most OEM burners don't come with software, but the retail versions will.

I'd pass on the soundcard until after you've heard what the on-board sound is like. Most on-board sound isn't that bad nowadays.

And you may want to think about getting a 19" LCD monitor instead of a 17" one, especially if you're a gamer.
