This is my first build and will be mainly used for gaming and school. What is in bold is what I still need to buy. I realized it was a bad idea to buy certain components first aside from the fact of lower prices later but because of the fact that something could be DOA seemed to be absent from my mind. However, my Mom is going to chip in so I can get the parts later in April after C2D drop so I can still get the rebate on the RAM. I do have one question though, would it be more worth it to buy the ACS3 version of the 320MB 8800 GTS instead of the one I'm buying? What I'm buying now will cost under $1300 but altogether it will be about $1600.

My final question, this is my first time buying something with a mail-in-rebate and right now, I'm not sure what is considered the receipt that I send in? I bought these from newegg and am assuming right now that the receipt is the order when I log into newegg and check order status.

You're system looks almost exactly what I'm currently using minus a few differences. A few things my limited experience leads me to comment on...

You shouldn't need the Arctic silver since the processor will come with a heat sink with thermal compound already on it.

Unless you plan to overclock the 667 mhz RAM will do just fine and save you a bit of cash.

Any particular reason you are putting a DVD-ROM & DVD burner in it? I've always preferred one catch all drive.

As far as the video card goes.. I don't really have the knowledge to answer your question, but... I do know that more DX10 cards will be coming out soon. So, I put a placeholder in mine until the prices of the new cards come down. I guess it depends on what kinds of games you play but having a DX10 card will give you some longevity. I went with a 7600GT which was only like 90 bucks and it runs the games I currently play (even some pretty graphic intensive ones) pretty well.

Good choice on the PSU and monitor. I use both. The PSU is great. Being modular it keeps everything clean and my voltage is very steady. I love the Sceptre monitor as well. It looks great and might be my favorite piece of my rig.

If you plan on upgrading later on and like to add lots of components you might think about your case. I just put together a rig with the case you have picked and it's nice. But, it being a mid tower things were kinda tight. My personal computer uses the cooler master full tower here (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119039). Not to mention, once you move to a new rig this case would make a great server box. :P

Newegg doesn't include a receipt in the box they ship, only a list of components that were shipped.
