What is the best way to copy CD's and DVD's? In Windows 2000 I used Adpatec (with 2 CD Drives) and I could make copies of CD's (mostly compilations) to listen to in the car. It was a very easy process just drag tracks from the original CD (store bought) to the new CD and I was done. After I "upgraded" to XP, Adaptec didn't work anymore and I bought Nero.

With Nero I had to copy the CD track to my hard drive then write it to the new/blank disk. very long process.

I know there has to be a better way to copy CD's.

I have never been able to copy DVD's, is this also possible?

What programs should I get for the new PC?

when u mean compilation your taking the cd and ripping tracks converting them to mp3s and burning them to a cd?
Adaptec if i belive was purchased by roxio and roxio is not nearly as good as nero.

I dont know what version of nero you have but nero has a utility to convert your CD WAV. to MP3's which are reseanoble smaller files and can fit more songs onto a CD.

With nero you can just drag tracks, opn up my computer go to the cd drive which has the mucis and once its open you will see the tracks and u can drag them into Nero make sure u open nero and are in the software where it ask you to input the music tracks

Nero is awsome compared to adaptec

I wasn't converting the CD tracks to MP3, just copying as-is
