Hello

I was wondering if anyone knew if case fan filters are worth the trouble. I would have a Coolmaster Centurion 5 style case, with the 120mm fans. The system is going to be in the basement of my house, which is definitely not the cleanest place. Would it be worth getting these filers, and has anyone had any experience and could recommend them?

thanks

Filters do help keep the inside of your computer clean, but once they start to get dusty the airflow through them really gets reduced quite a bit. This means you have to clean them very often...if you don't, they get really clogged up and you get no airflow through the case.

I tried them way back when and they did help keep my computers cleaner...but I got tired of cleaning them every week and just blow out my computers a few times a year with my shop vac instead.

I have three long haired cats that love to sit right in front of my main pc when I'm working on it. The case is an Antec Sonata II with a filter in the front. I pull the filter every 3 or 4 weeks and blow the hair off. It's amazing how much would have gone inside without that filter. I don't think the mesh is fine enough to stop all the dust but it does prevent much of it from getting inside and clogging up the fans and heat sinks.
