Hey, I posted about my cardboard addition to my case a while back, and raved about how well it was doing. Well that same PC with that same cardbaord side just today randomly turned off. Of course, I immediately checked the temps, and sure enough, the CPU had heated to around 73 celsius. I rearanged some fans to improve cooling, vacuumed the case, and let it sit for a few hours. Now it runs steadily at around 62 celsius. Needless to say, this is unacceptable.
Any idea why in one day it went from averaging high 30's to staying around 62? I am baffled.

Did you check to make sure the Heatsink didnt come loose? Is it a 775? Its very easy to not put the notch all the way into the MOBO with those heatsinks.

Heh, well its not quite a 775... More like Socket A. But I will check nonetheless.
