Hi everyone, I am still using Netscape 7.2 because of the included mail client that comes with it. Lately I've had many problems with it where Microsoft tells me of an error and needs to shut down. When I send the error report it says its a Netscape problem and it might be fixed with an updated version. I have tried the 8.0 version and it seems better but still have the problem, but then I still use 7.2 for my mail. I have tried cleaning out the cache, history, etc. but still same problem. So I guess I hve to do an uninstall and wanted any recommendations on what works good for browser and mail. I.E. Firefox, Mozilla or anything else and is there a way to save or transfer my mail and years of bookmarks. Sorry for the long message.
Thanks - Paul

The best way to find a new browser that you like is to try them all. IE7, Firefox (made by Mozilla) and Opera are the big players. Asking which one is best just invites a flamewar between the diehard fans of each browser. Play with each one, you'll find one that you prefer. :)

Yea, I guess you are right, Ihave IE 7, so I will try Firefox. I don't want to start any wars, I was mainly wondering which had a mail option like the old Netscape.

Maxthon (http://www.maxthon.com/) is another one to try. I have been using it for several years and I love it.

Seamonkey (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/) is a browser from Mozilla (who makes Firefox) that aims to have an all-in-one experience (email, newsgroups, etc.) THat might be what you're looking for.

Seamonkey is going to look just like Netscape to you. That would be my choice for an integrated solution. Everything will import fine.

Thanks again, I installed Seamonkey and everything seems to to be fine. I really like it so far. It seems like all my mail and bookmarks have been moved ok. After I'm done checking it out can I completely remove all my old netscape programs without affecting Seamonkey?

Yep - just don't remove any profiles.
