My close friend wanted to play that new game, he installed it inside his comp... and won't run at all!

Then I checked his comp's specs:

ATi X800 videocard
AMD Athlon 64 2800+
512MB DDR RAM

I know the RAM is lacking, but I really hate to confirm that his processor couldn't take this kind of game as well. Then I tested this game in my computer, and surprisingly it worked, but I have to turn down my details to some Medium, and some high.

My specs is this:

Geforce 7300GT DDR3
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
1GB DDR2-667 RAM

What do you think? Is that game really demands dual-core, or a truckload of RAM, or a very good GFX card? :)

Yup, I think you've got it covered. Another 512MB of RAM would surely help but if you can go to 2GB that would be great. The CPU is also a bit old and could do with a change too. Your own system looks like it has the stuff to play it with ease.

The game doesn't have that much in the way of requirements... particularly compared to SupCom. In SupCom I run mediumish settings and it gets quite slow towards the end while I run absolutely top specs on C&C3 without a single hint of lag.

Your friend shouldn't need too much of an expensive upgrade.

I'm all for more powerful gaming systems but your friend meets the required specs for CnC3 :

If it's flatly refusing to run for him then he's got other problems.

My computer runs fine on that game, except those shadows and those decals and those other micro stuff in the game. Texture quality is set to very high without problems. I guess it's my video card lacking. :)

Yes - I'm telling him to add some more RAM. But I really really afraid that his processor hasn't got enough juice to run this at all. I checked in that Gamespot test centre - the lower end processors couldn't take it too well.

So with keeping his video card, must he change to a dual-core to fully utilize that game? Let's say, if he decided to change to a DDR2, and an AM2 board w/ AGP slot (yeah that one with VIA chipset...) :D
