Internet broswers keep quiting

I am having this on going problem with my MSI K7T266 pro2 version 2 (Athlon 1900+, Jaton nVidia GeForce4 MX 4000 with current driver, 512mb memory, 80 gig maxtor hd) running WinXP pro where the internet browsers keep quiting which includes Firefox. I had some other problems, so I reinstalled the computers, particularly since IE7 was giving me problems. So now I only have IE 6. But even after the reinstall, all internet browsers still keep quiting after a while, though not right away. I have other computers which does not give me this problem. It is specific to this MSI motherboard. I did update Quicktime, as well as Flash. So I don't know what is going on.

I am just wondering if a monitor could cause any erratic behavior. It is so huge, I hate to move it. It seems when I take the computer downstairs and everything that was attached to that computer (keyboard,mouse) except for the monitor, it seems to work fine. The only other thing is that is different is that it is on a different router port. I've tried so many different things from changing the ethernet card to puting a new power supplys (as it was making too much noise anyway). But this Compaq EN 1 ghz I put in it's place for my wife, doesn't have any problems on the internet. I also heard that this particular motherboard likes matched memory; so it found some memory and matched it, to isolate that problem. As I also have some other annoyances anyway. This motherboard is really starting to get on my nerve. BTW: I also updated the BIOS.

Since I figured out why this behavior is occuring, I will answer it myself; the main problem was that the inside of my computer was getting too hot, consequently causing instability. I noticed this when I discovered that the computer worked fine when I moved it downstairs. But when I moved it to a confined area upstairs, it started behaving erratic but when I kept the sides open, it worked fine. It turns out this clearly was the problem, as I have not had any problems since I have kept the sides open.

Allthough, this motherboard defintely does not liked mismatched memory; particularly when it goes beyond 512mb. Because even when I had the same memory Micron 2100 DDR, it would cause the blue screen to appear when I had a 512mb, 256mb and 126mb installed. But it seemed to work fine when I only had the 256mb and 128mb installed. But not when I would have unmatched speeds.I want to emphasize that I was still having the problem of the internet dropping when I had the proper matched pairs. Actually, right now I decided to buy a 512mb micron 2100 stick. That is why I say that the overheating was the main problem in the end.
