Synching Folders and Files Between Computers

I currently do all of my work on one computer, described in my signature. I am planning to buy a laptop in the near future, and was wondering what is the easiest way to keep folders on both computers synched together. For example, if I work on a project on the laptop, and want to continue on the desktop, what program should I use so that all of the files are updated between the two?
