Hi,
Busy trying to connect my Xbox 360 to my wireless network. When I run the connection test it passes the first 2 stages and connects to my BT Voyager 2110 wireless router ok but it fails the IP test. I'm assuming theres some settings on my router that need changing. Can anyone talk me through it. Trying to set this up for when my young son comes in as a surprise.
Cheers

are u using the microsoft wireless adapter or is it a 3rd party one? maybe u have ur router set to only give out a certain # of ip's at a time?

It is a 3rd party router Stealth. Don't really know how to find out about the number of IP's it can give out. Can't find that setting. Doing my head in at the minute. Its sitting there and it can connect to the router but it fails the xbox live test.
Thanks for replying by the way.

hhmmm. is there a way u can hook up the 360 over a wired connection and see if it works? if it does then try downloading the newest dashboard update and then try the wireless again.

i just went through this yesterday, hooking up a wireless ethernet bridge to the wired port of the 360. even though the 360 was set to automatically pull an IP address, it wasn't. i ended up setting a static address and making all of the other settings manually and it worked just fine.
i was dealing with linksys products on both sides, so i can't help you on your specific hardware. but i would first check to see what the ip address is on the xbox and then make changes as necessary

turn off firewalls make sure it is not being blocked by the router. If you have any security encryption or anything on your wireless router make sure you put the password in on the 360. If all else fails hardwire it and see if you can get it to work that way
