A good friend of mine has asked me to build a PC for his sister.
She basically is going to be using this computer for everyday tasks such as email, internet,
job resumes, viewing pics from digital cam, ipod, etc ...

Here is a list, with links, of the main parts I have in mind:

Do you already have the optical drive and HDD?

:) I typically stay with my NEC optical drives and Seagate HDD. So, in a way I do

If you don't already have the optical drive and HDD.

Go ahead and go with SATA drives. Lite-On is good for optical drives and Seagate is one of the best. :D

I actually hate Lite-On products ... after have 5 DVD burners be defective I have placed them on my no no list. I have used NEC ever since and never had a problem.

Wow... I never had any problems with Lite-On so far... NEC is a good brand too... so if you don't have any problems with them... just stick with it. :D

hehe yes, Nec all the way! I of course use Sata, I have three Sata drives in my own PC at the moment.
