I installed my motherboard into my case which came with a power supply and have the jumpers set up right (I think) and power cables plugged in and have cpu and fan in and the video card also...I plug it in to test without hooking anything external up and turn it on and the motherboard light is green and nothing else, no fans going or anything...Should I hook up anything externally like a monitor or keyboard or mouse is that it, or is their something else???

Try this:

Also, please provide your system specs. Especially the brand/model of the power supply.

You would want to hook up the monitor to see if you are getting anything and at least a keyboard...

Have you tried shorting the power button pins on the motherboard with a screw driver to see if it powers on?

Also double check and make sure nothing is shorting out the motherboard such as loose screws. Do you have the brass standoffs seperating the motherboard from the case?

Double check and make sure your power supply is set to 115v if your in the US. Do you have the 20 or 24 pin main power cable connected to the motherboard?

You didn't say anything about the memory modules. If the memory modules aren't cleanly in the slots, that can stop booting.

Yeah you never said anything about RAM and it sounds like your not sure if the jumpers are in the right places so use a screwdriver between the two power up pins. You should be able to find those from your motherboard manual. What are you system full specs?

What model is the INWIN case is it?

What brand and model is your video card?

Do you have the 24-pin main power supply connector hooked up to the motherboard and the 4-pin ATX12V connector also?

Trying to figure out if the PSU included with the case will support your components.

Please post your complete system specs. List all components by brand and model including the power supply. It's really hard to help you if we don't know what you're dealing with...remember, we can't "see" your computer from where we are, we're relying on you to provide us with the information we need in order to help you with this problem.

Are you troubleshooting with the motherboard out of the case right now?
