I have freenas up and running, and i can get into the WebGUI from everywhere in the house. I have enabled CIFS and i have set the authentication to Anonymous. when i try to access it from a windows xp box, i see the two shares i have created. if i double click on one, i get the Login box, and the user is hardcoded to 192.168.1.250\Guest with no password.
since i have it set to Anon. login, i assumed i could just hit ok with no password and it would go through, but it did not. it just keeps coming back. i have tried entering the admin password, as well as the password for the user i created for myself.
accessing it from a Mac at least gives the ability to put in a user in addition to the password. so i put in the username that i created along with the password, but no luck. i also tried the admin account with the same results.
then just to see if the Guest account would work, i created a Guest account on the freenas box, set a password and tried that, but no luck there either.
any help would be appreciated. this is my first foray into freenas, but i have set it up according to the manual. thanks
