What exactly are you trying to do? Are you trying to create a CD that will automatically run the program that is burned onto it?

Walk us through the procedure you tried.

I burnt a program to a cd using the burning program supplied with susu 10.1
When I placed the CD into a nother computer with XP the program would not open up that I burnt on the linux computer.
How do I burn a program on suse that can be taken to a XP computer and installed.
What format. Is there a format that can run on XP and Linux so the program only has to be burnt once.

It's far from clear what you are trying to do. Exactly what "program" did you copy. Are you referring to a computer application when you say "program" or a TV program that you copied in linux and burned to a cd-r and now want to watch in either linux or windows?

the filesystem on a CD is the same regardless of operating system, so if you burnt it using linux or XP, you should be able to mount it on either.

what software did you use to write the CD? what's the data structure? is it an exe? zip? iso (as a file or extracted) ?

It may depend on the drive and the software being used. If you used a drag and drop program to write the files, XP does not natively support drag and drop to disk.

Certain software programs like mount ranier and others do format disks so that you can drag and drop files and use cds like floppys. But not all disk drives support this type of mounting.

If you did drag and drop the files, XP can't read it. You will need different writing software.
