I'm new to case modding...I don't want to got cutting into my Tsunami before I get a little practice, but I do have a couple questions.

1. Would a wooden case get hotter than an aluminum case with the same or even more fans?

2. I have about 3/4" clearance between the bottom of my case and my desk, would a bottom intake fan work or would there not be enough clearance? The fan would be on the inside of the case leaving the 3/4" for air to come in.

3. At approx how many fans (on a higher end PC, 4gb RAM, AMD X2 4600+, Geforce 7950GX2 2x HDD RAID 0) do addition fans become pointless...just because i have 2 x 120 and 1 x 80, not sure if more would help or not.

I would think that a bottom intake fan would not get enough airflow, even with a little space. And leading into your other question, you have plenty of cooling, even for a well stocked PC. I wouldn't worry about adding additional fans.

As for the wood vs. aluminum, if you had a few fans for airflow, I don't see why the wood case would get any warmer.

Thanks for the reply, I just have quite the extensive access to wood and wood working tools, so i figured if i got some decent stuff I could make one kickin' wood PC case.

Me Like that!

I also think that a bottom intake would draw in too much dust etc.. for it to be practical.
