A friend has asked me to put more memory in her Packard Bell I media PC. It has a P4 processor 2788 MHz Currently has 1 512 Mb and 1 256 Mb DDr SDRAM 333MHz memory Chips. Has Win XP 2002 build. When she bought it, it only had 256Mb Ram about 6 months ago I put in a 512 chip, but think it could do with more. How much Ram will this support and will faster Ram be OK.
Still new to this self build thing.

Faster ram should be okay... it will just run bottlenecked to the slowest stick installed.
Do you have the model number of the computer or the motherboard brand and model? If you do... you can go to Crucial.com and use their memory configurator and it will give you the type of ram required and how much you can install... and a bunch of other information that you need to know.
You don't have to buy from them... just use their useful tool.
