i have posted over on their forums, but i am hoping someone here is familiar with virtuemart
basically, what i need to be able to do is have products with negative prices in addition to standard-priced products. basically, the company i work for sells new and pre-owned equipment, but we will also come in and take equipment out of a facility upon request. we have a set price for each item that we are willing to pay site-unseen.
right now we are doing this all over the phone, but we are trying to get a web solution up and running. virtuemart allows me to set it up properly, but if the final total is negative (more buybacks than actual purchases), i get a 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable Error. as soon as i get that value back to positive, it works just fine. all i have found on their forums is that hypothetically it should work.
i realize this is a funny request, but i am hoping someone has some idea on how to proceed with this. i really like virtuemart, and would like to use it if it can be made to function how we need it to. any advice on how to proceed would be great
