I am running an EVGA GeForce 8800 GTX 768mb card on a 680i SLI motherboard, and as of two days ago after 3 or 4 hours of gameplay my games freeze up and I am having artifact issues.. (That *is* when the screen breaks into jagged pieces, right?)

Anyways, I checked my GPU temp right after quitting to desktop and it was idling between 62-65 degrees.. After reading some other posts about 8800 GTX temps it seems like many people have their cards go up to 80 degrees without artifacting.

Could something besides the temperature be causing this problem?? I will look to see if there are any new 8800 series drivers out next time I turn on my computer, but if there isn't I hope to still be able to play WoW tonight..

Do the artifacts only appear in games? If so, is there a specific game in which this does happen?

I would take the side panel of the case off for a few minutes while gaming to double check the overheating issue. As temperatures vary while gaming.

Driver updates would be a good step.

What is the psu model/make?
