zone alarm issues

hi,
i recently started heaving problems with basic free zone alarm firewall. i use it on 2 computers and problem looks the same. after computers have been up and running for a while zone alarm prevents me getting online. Everything works when I start computer first, but in sometime it stops. I turn ZA off and I can get online. Anybody has seen a problem like that?
I actually uninstalled ZA from my desktop pc and put Comodo firewall on - seems to work better.

This sounds like a common issue with newer versions of the free ZA. I couldn't find any fixes outside of restarting the system. Do you have the Windows firewall disabled? Also make sure your systems are both accessing the internet, then install ZA; don't install ZA then attempt to setup your internet connection.

I actually was using pro version of ZA for few years, this year I stopped paying and have been using the free version. I do have Windows firewall disabled and was accessing internet when installing ZA. If I need something quick I just disable ZA, but I don't like running without a firewall for a long time, so I restart my systems. I actually just got a latest update of ZA on my laptot, let's see if the problem is gone. If not I'm putting Comodo on my laptop too.

Zone Alarm had similar issues about 5 years ago where it would prevent users from getting on the internet. At the time you had to completely uninstall ZA using their instructions and then install an older version that worked without the same issues. I stopped using ZA at the time and used other free firewalls. But currently I'm just using the WinXP SP2 firewall behind a router and feel this is more than adequate protection.

I still have over a year on my ZAP subscription, but it seems to be working fine. Anybody know how long ago Check Point took over ZoneLabs? If wonder if that has any relation to the problems... I like ZAP for it's outbound protection.
