Somebody gave me a computer which previously had an LCD monitor. I bought a new CRT monitor but when I booted it up, it shows OUT OF FREQUENCY message then blacks out. I know this is because the monitor and video card (Geforce 6800 GT) are out of sync. But when I go to safe mode, there's no way I can adjust the settings of the video card. Any idea how to solve this problem?

try adjusting it on the monitor.

Also the 'Display Settings' in windows has an option.

both should work just fine.

I know this is unrelated but I was looking at your Build pics at Photobucket (in your sig) and I think its really cool.

That's an awesome case. Where'd you get that from? Newegg? Xoxide?

Anyway, sorry for interrupting lol, just thought it was cool.

Try deleting the monitor listed in Device Monitor while in Safe Mode. That way Windows should ID the CRT as a new monitor on reboot.
