Personally I like PCLinuxOS for ease of use............ as for gaming, not a big gamer so someone else will have to help you on that one. Mandriva is also an easy to use distro.
Gaming? Stick with Windows.

Gaming....either dual boot or stick with Windows all together. I personally use PCLinuxOS. I do have a XP partition that I use whenever I want to run a game.

Unbuntu http://www.ubuntu.com/ and they have a great forums here http://ubuntuforums.org/ . But as far as games go, If you're new to linux stick to windows to run your games. Games like HL2, CSS & some others can be played on linux but need a little help to run properly.

I have Ubuntu64 on my main machine but I agree entirely with glc, stick to windows if you wanna game. I had a heck of a time getting EQ2 and Vanguard to run on Ubuntu. Once I got EQ2 runing right on Ubuntu it ran much smoother than it did with windows however to get it to run was really hard. No go on Vanguard though. Also if you plan on using ATI video card stay away from Linux.
