Hi,
I am trying to get help with a laptop computer that we bought from my husband’s former company. The problem is that IE needs to be upgraded and in order to do so, I need to allow Active Control X…unfortunately, there is an administrator lock on here that won’t allow me to change the settings. Also, we recently went to a wireless modem and we had to uninstall our HP 7200 series printer and reinstall for use with the wireless modem. There again, we were not able to reinstall the printer because of the administrator settings. We use Mozilla Firefox almost all of the time, but I would like to be able to use IE when necessary.

Is there a way to change the administrator settings without contacting the company? If so, please advise. I have asked my hubby to contact his former company to get the password or whatever else he may need, but he has been very busy and travels constantly…he has a new computer now, so it isn’t really a priority to him! I am tired of asking, so I thought maybe someone could help me out here. Thanks for taking the time to read this post. If anyone can help, I will be very grateful for your time. Have a great day and weekend!

I am sorry Amy but the forum rules prevent us from helping people with password work arounds.
The only thing I can suggest is either you contact the company for the information as your husband is busy or you do a format and reinstall of Windows.

Before someone violates the rules and posts a fix I am going to close this thread down.
