Installing BF 2142

It requires a dvd-rom, which i dont have. Could I give my hdd to my friend, have him install my game on my hdd and give it back to me? Or could I give him my hdd and have him create an image file on my hdd and then mount it with daemon tools?

i dont have that game, but dont you need the dvd to play the game.

tigstah, the game is on a DVD-ROM. marxr87, why cant you just borrow your friends DVD drive? or simply go out and get one (there cheap enough as it is). I do think borrowing his would be the easiest way, and much less time consuming. You cant simply install the game on your HDD from his computer, you might be able to make an image of it and use daemon..though once again, it would be a lot easier if you can borrow his drive.

ok so im going to put a dvd rom in the comp...this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106039 but i don't know the difference between sata and ide, i know my hdds are ide...will this be compatible?

You need sata connectors and support from your mb. If you're already using IDE get an IDE DVD ROM.
