Need some help please

Hey all, been out of puters for quite some time - long enough to claim pure ignorance to what I'm experiencing now. Need some help. Think its my flash program but could be way off. Trying to watch movies on myspace or Youtube. Problem is when I go to the site where there is a video I want to watch - lets just say I see the video thumbnails, though if I click on one (pretty much anywhere) the video player initializes then disappears when it starts to play (video and all), though I do get sound usually. Am convinced I have a bad setting on my laptop somewhere - though not sure where to look. Downloaded the latest Macromedia Flash player at the request of myspace support - though that didn't do anything. Noticed this same thing happen with a few other graphics too. Very open to suggestions short of unplug or blow up the puter. TIA

You said you downloaded the latest Flash player, but did you use Adobe's Flash uninstaller program to totally get rid of the old install first? If something's messed up in Flash, sometimes just installing the new one over the top of the old one won't fix it. If you need the uninstaller, you can find it here

Just download whichever version you need for the operating system you're using and follow their directions.
After running the uninstaller, reinstall the latest version again. Here's a link to that in case you didn't save it from last time.
