Memory Upgrade

New guy here and sorry if this has be covered before but couldn't find it. I don't know much about computer but I can get by. I am looking to upgrade my memory from 1GB to 2Gb. Right now my set up is 533mhz pc 4200, can I use a memory stick of 667mhz pc 5300 with out any problem? Will the 667 5300 give me any performance advantage over the 533 4200, as far as gaming and faster start up?
