I have a problem with my hard drive, i have just bought a new pc and set it. I thought every thing was workin correctly but then i noticed my hard drive was 120GB even tho it was actually 320GB. i have checked the bios and it says its 320GB does this mean its a problem with windows? i can't figure out how to fix this problem if any1 could help i would be very happy.
My systems spec is below:

ASUS P5K P35 - Motherboard
Intel Q6600 Quadcore - CPU
Corsair DDR2 TX PRO 2GB PC6400 - RAM
320GB SAmsung SATA2 - Hard drive
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT - Graphics card

Click Start->Run and type: diskmgmt.msc

You "should" see the rest of your drive as UNallocated...You can right click on it and select Create Partition(s)....

This is a common issue with XP verions that came out before XP SP2...

Thanks a lot it worked. I now have a X drive on my pc LOL.

However i have tried to use this partition and it says it has to formatted b4 it can be used. Does this mean that i will lose the data on the other half of the partition. And if so is there any way i can get around partitioning it coz i just finished puttin everthing on any cant be arsed putting it back on again. Thanks

No, formatting a partition will not affect the data on another partition.
