I built my computer crossed my fingers and hit the power switch, It turned on, great but.......
All the fans are turning and the hard drive sounds like its working, the mobo light also turns on but the CD-Rom drive dosen't light up, I took the heat sink and fan off the proc, and turned on the power to see if it got hot.....it didn't my guess is my new proc is dead, any other thoughts?

What are the complete system specs for this computer? List the parts by brand and model including the power supply.
You really want to never, ever run a modern computer without the CPU heatsink installed.

Try taking the CD out of the equation, a DOA optical drive can prevent a system start.
Post back your results.

So your saying without my optical drive the system will not start? No, he's saying a defective optical drive connected to your computer can prevent it from booting up. Disconnect the optical drive (power and data cables) and then try to see if the computer will boot up properly.
