Okay, I've got my machine up and running, Windows has been installed, everything seems to be okay, except for the sound. It doesn't look like there is any sound hardware installed, but the motherboard I have:
Intel 975X ATX LGA 775
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16813121059
has onboard sound. Could I have hooked something up wrong, or is there something I might need to do that I forgot about? Not really sure what the problem is.

Have you installed the motherboard drivers? They will have been supplied on a cd that should have been in the box.
Deuce.

Yes, I'd definitely install the chipset drivers, they came on the CD which says "Install FIRST."
You'll get some dang fine sound from the built-in Intel HD sound. I've mated it up with some Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 speakers and I'm as happy as a lark. (Assuming the saying is true and larks are happy ....)

Ha, oops, I must not have noticed it amongst the sea of parts and packaging and whatnot that's sitting in my living room. Thanks for the help.
